Shoreditch Tabernacle Baptist Church, or ‘The Tab’ is a small church in the heart of London with a real passion for people. Although located in the borough of Tower Hamlets, we are also on the border of Hackney and the City of London. Through traditional and outreach ministry, and our ground breaking community development work in the ‘Tab Centre’ the lives of many people who are excluded or disadvantaged are touched and changed.

Our role is to be an active social ministry in action, and we are set in a unique location to carry this out. Although ‘The Tab’ is a relatively small church, we have a core of committed and hard working members who have sustained the church; through the grace of God, over many years. Our vision for the future is to continue to grow our membership, social action projects and community to be one of the most effective ministries in London.

Our priorities

To complement our vision of active ministry, we have 5 main objectives;

* Growth in membership

* Investing in our Young People

* Community Development

* Reaching out with the ‘Alpha Course’

* Delivery of a new church building

We are excited at the opportunities that are being presented to us, the differences that we are making in the lives of so many in the community, and feel blessed at being given the chance to continue and grow with the support of staff, members, funders, the business community in the city and beyond.

Our world has entered a turbulent phase, and it is more important than ever for us to remember to love our neighbours as ourselves, and help those less able to help themselves. This is at the very core of Christianity and shines brightly within the work that is undertaken by the Church and Tab Centre.
