The Shoreditch Tabernacle Baptist Church (The Tab) has been a part of the community in East London for almost 181 years. ‘The Tab’ is a growing church and we have a growing core of committed and hardworking members who have sustained the church; through the grace of God, over many years. Our desire is that The Tab Church is a place for all and that people of all cultures, ages and genders can come and feel welcome and feel part of the family.
Our vision for the future is not only to continue to reach out to others with the love and compassion of God but also to deepen our own relationship with Him.
Our Mission Statement
“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.” (Luke 4:18-19)
We believe that the Church is key to transforming our local community – and that by working closely with our members, we can transform our society with the good news of Jesus and the great values that we hold to.
We aim to do this through our personal walk with Christ and by following Jesus’ example.
As a Church
The Tab Church aims to achieve this through the following five areas:
1. Demonstrating God’s love through various ministries.
2. Communicating God’s word through evangelism.
3. Rejoicing in God’s presence in Worship.
4. Incorporating God’s people into His family.
5. Educating God’s people through discipleship.
